5 Reasons Why Family Photos are invaluable
Let's face it, everything is expensive now days including photography services. But, like I explain to all my clients, professional photos are one of the only investments you are able to keep forever, gets more valuable with time, and that you will never, ever regret. Here's why-
Family photos only gain more value and sentiment over time. The more time that passes, the more you'll wish to reminisce on the days of the past. Family photos are part of your legacy-think about it, years from now, those photos will be what gets passed down to generations to come. You will never regret taking family photos, ever!
Life is so fragile and so precious. You never know when things will change, and it can happen in the matter of a second. If you lose a loved one or they fall ill, photos serve as a token of their memory. Family photos remind us of a time when things were good. They are especially important if you have pets since their time with us on earth is so short. Family photos are a way to honor our loved ones for years to come!
Taking family photos is a great way to document change-especially if you take updated pictures every year. Doing so allows you to look back at any given moment in time and really see how life has changed. There is truly nothing that pulls on the heart-strings more than seeing how time has grown, and shaped your family.
If you're a parent, you know what I mean when I say that trying to take nice photos of your kids on your own can be a difficult and daunting task. Even if you are one of the lucky ones who are able to snap some photos of your kids on your phone here and there, hiring a photographer to take family portraits creates new memories to experience with your family. Plus, there really is no match to professional-grade high resolution photos that hiring a photographer provides! A good photographer should prompt, pose, and cue your family through the entire session, so all you need to worry about is showing up! I like to play games with my client's kids during my sessions to help keep children engaged, get those organic and candid shots, and create a memorable and fun experience for kids who may not enjoy having their photos taken!
Kids grow insanely fast. It's likely that five years from now, though it may seem impossible, you'll struggle to remember what you children were even like today. Taking family photos is a way to remember and celebrate those milestones, especially when your children are young and rapidly changing and developing. With newborn photography for instance, you only have a 10-day window before your baby will start going through huge changes and it becomes nearly impossible to get those pretty, posed newborn photos. Newborns are especially calm and sleepy during those first 10 days post-birth, but they don't stay in this state for long!
